| Spacecraft #1 is temporarily assembled on the spacecraft dolly for alignment testing. The structure consists of an Instrument Deck or upper deck, the center tube or Thrust Tube, and the lower Spacecraft Deck. Vertical and horizontal struts provide support. The instruments will be mounted on the underside of the Instrument Deck while the Avionics will be mounted to the topside of the Spacecraft Deck. The center of the circular Thrust Tube will house the four propulsion tanks. (Refer to the “Spacecraft” portion of this website for more details about the spacecraft design). |
